Appeared in the Mississippi-set coming-of-age drama BLACKBIRD as Randy (now streaming on ALLBLK, tubi ), Bounce TV's hit series Saints & Sinners as youth choir member Taj & Season 4 of BET's hits series Being Mary Jane (BET app, Hulu) as the uber-talented, hip, always "in the know" employee, Tyrone "Ty" Nicholson.

Recipient of the 2016 Humanitarian Award of Television & Film at the Visions Community Foundations award ceremony, the 2017 Gentlemen of Promise Award at the The 6th Annual Gentlemen's Ball both held in Atlanta, GA. 2023 Visionary National Impact honor from The Normal Anomaly Initiative based in Houston, TX.  And recently, the 2024 Anthem Award , Shorty Impact Award, and the 2022 People's Voice Webby Award in Video: Series & Channels-Diversity, Equity & Inclusion for producing season two of Changemakers , now streaming via YouTube.    

 

Activist

Deputy Director, Mobilizing Our Brother's Initiative (MOBI) is a series of curated social connectivity events for queer people of color to see their holistic self while promoting community, wellness, and personal development. (For more information click on the word MOBI). Featured in Gilead Science Healthysexual Campaign, to learn more about the campaign and healthier sex, visit www.healthysexuals.com. In 2022, Julian partnered with GLADD as the Associate Director, Communities of Color and Media to create programming that shapes narratives and provokes dialogue that will lead to cultural change; while identifying and meeting the needs of the community. In 2023, the Communities of Color Team produced the inaugural Black Queer Creative Summit which gathered 150 Black Queer Creatives to LA for a weekend field of networking, creative learning, and equity. 

 

Julian partnered witBisi Alimi Foundation (Accelerating Social Acceptance of LGBTQ+ People in Nigeria) as a featured guest on the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia & Biphobia virtual event " Breaking The Silence". ViacomCBS (The Office of Global Inclusion, EMERGE & CBS Pride in partnership with GLAAD) as moderator during their Pride Month LGBTQ+ Intersectionality Spotlight virtual panel discussion around intersectionality, voting rights and protecting freedoms within the LGBTQ+ community.

Author

On January 1st, 2019 Julian released, "A Year Without You"  a book of poetry broken into four chapters each termed after the four seasons of the year beginning with Fall. Featured on NBC News  Best Black Queer Books list in 2020; these poems will guide along the healing process which blossoms into a journey of self love & compassion.
